Spring in Japan is officially known as Sakura, or Japanese cherry blossom, season.
Japan is at its most spectacular during the Spring season when parks and temples throughout the country come to light with thousands of Japanese cherry blossom petals bursting into colour during its brief blooming season.
Japanese gather in public parks or other ideal spots to view the flowers in a group, known as “hanami”, which is the way the Japanese enjoy the blooming sakura flowers, as if at a spring time festival.
This is an ideal tour for travellers new to Japan, offering the opportunity to be part of this special time in the Japanese calendar, whilst enjoying all of the other traditional and modern delights that Japan is famous for, and travelling to some of Japan’s most famous sites.
