Japan Holidays’ Carnival of Flowers Garden Tour is an opportunity to view the wonderful Ju Raku En Japanese Garden, see Cherry Blossoms in flower, wander the floral displays in Queens Park as well as visit some spectacular displays in both public and private gardens.
The 4-day, 3 night tour with departures from Kingscliff, Gold Coast or Brisbane is fully escorted by well-known horticulturist Kate Heffernan. At the end of the first day the tour will relax with a Welcome Dinner and Kate will present a talk on Queensland’s Garden Heritage.
There will be visits to Laurel Bank with its delightful sensory garden, and heritage listed Boyce Gardens. Once a private garden it is now under the curatorship of Queensland University. A picnic lunch will set the tour up for more gardens, including the Queensland State Rose Gardens at Newtown Park with its collection of approximately 2000 roses, among them Bourbon, Portland, China, David Austin, Hybrid Perpetual and more. Later, a special evening dinner at the renowned Downs Club of Toowoomba with the tastes of the region as well as wines from local vineyards.
The tours third day will take in some rural vistas on its way to country gardens of the Greater Downs region.
Before heading home, a morning in Toowoomba at the Regional Art Gallery with its botanically inspired exhibitions and if time another local garden or perhaps a Garden Centre.
The tour will cater for a maximum of 24 participants and includes daily lunch (mostly picnics in parks) and 2 dinners.
The Tour will operate with safety protocols to allow participants to travel confidently and with peace of mind. If the Tour was not able to proceed for a reason outside of our control monies will be refunded.
