The Chubu Region is the name given to the central area of Honshu, located in the middle of the Japanese archipelago.

It comprises the nine prefectures Niigata Prefecture, Toyama Prefecture, Ishikawa Prefecture, Fukui Prefecture, Yamanashi Prefecture, Nagano Prefecture, Gifu Prefecture, Shizuoka Prefecture, and Aichi Prefecture.

Chubu features both world-renowned destinations and underrated gems. Its Tokai region is possibly the most authentic Japanese of all the country’s regions, with its ancient heritage, modern industry and stunning nature. Mt. Fuji, one of the world’s most iconic peaks, is surrounded by numerous hot springs such as Hakone and the Fuji Five Lakes. Not to mention the World Heritage site Shirakawa-go with its unique tatch-roof cottages, or the nation’s biggest green tea plantation,Toyota Motor corporation, and lastly, the most respected shrine in Japan, Ise-jingu.

The Kansai or Kinki region is the western region of the island of Honshu and includes the cities of Himeji, Kobe, Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara. It is the cultural and historical heart of Japan and the second-most populated after Kanto.

Nagoya Castle (in Aichi) is a symbol; of Nagoya and was residence of the 620,000 koku Owari Tokugawa household. It was built by the order of Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1612, and it symbolizes Nagoya’s pride and power.

Kintetsu Ujiyamada – appx 10min – Kotaijingu (Naiku) -appx 28min – Meoto Iwa Rocks—appx 12min -Toba bus center
Kotaijingu (Naiku Mie Prefecture) is the most venerable sanctuary in Japan. Here is a jinja (Shinto Shrine) dedicated to Amaterasu-Omikami, the ancestral kami (Shinto deity)of the Imperial family. She was enshrined in Naiku about 2,000years about 2,000 years ago
and has been revered as a guardian of Japan.
Okage Yokocho Street is a tourist spot in front of Ise Jingu Shrine. The street reproduced the crowded Ise temple town during the end stage of Edo Period (1603-1868) Okagemari event. They also reproduced the special Ise Tsumairi style buildings as well as Western style buildings of Kuwanashi.
There are 55 various stores and restaurants.
Meoto Iwa (husband and wife rocks) have been named as they look like a married couple standing next to each other. The place where they stand is said to be a sacred spot that the gods visit.

Shinsekai is one of the popular shopping district in Osaka. There are many restaurants and shops, and is always crowded with many people. Tsutenkaku Tower imitated the Eiffel Tower in Paris is very close to Shinsekai.

Mizuki Shigeru Road (in Tottori) has 177 fine bronze statues of various yokai which line the stretch of Mizuki Road. Anyone can see and touch the bronze statues which stand on a black granite base.
