Tottori Prefecture is located in Western Japan on the main island of Honshu, along the Sea of Japan coast.
It is the least populous prefecture of Japan and has a geographic area of 3,507km. Last spring, the picturesque Tottori Seawave Cycling Road opened to cyclists.
The route takes cyclists along the beautiful Sea of Japan on a 138km long and 311 meter ascent journey across the prefecture. Along the way, cyclists will pass through the popular sightseeing spots of Yumigahama Beach, the Tottori Sand Dunes, and the Uradome Coast.
In addition, experienced cyclists can challenge the Tour de Daisen Cycling Route, which completes a loop around the 1,729 meter Mt Daisen, or test their endurance with a near uninterrupted climb up the same mountain on the Sea to Summit Cycling route.
