Update: 7th May 2022

At a press conference in London on Thursday, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced that Japan intends to further ease border controls as of June 2022. This is intended to put Japan more in line with other G7 countries, which allow quarantine-free travel for vaccinated visitors (at a minimum).

As travels resumes in Australia and many countries around the world, Japan is, unfortunately, still closed to tourists but this announcement strongly indicates that the government is moving towards opening up to tourists in June – though in format or stages is currently unclear.

Japan Holidays will be monitoring the situation on a daily basis and continue to update this page when firm details and dates are known.

We are taking bookings for Japan now and deposits are refundable if you are unable to travel due to border closures, so contact us today for a quote at info@japanholidays.com.au.

There are some excellent early bird ski specials so be sure to check those out as well.
