For guests that want to get out and amongst Hokkaido’s beautiful nature, Rusutsu has a lot of activities to suit outdoor enthusiasts during the Summer months – from golf, close to the resort, to hiking, mountain biking, rafting and hot air ballooning further afield.

Golfing

Rusutsu Resort Golf 72 consists of four 18-hole courses, making it an extremely popular venue during the warmer months.

Each of the four courses are designed to highlight the natural terrain surrounding Rusutsu and provide magnificent views of Mt. Yotei in the distance. For the keen golfer, Tower Course which was designed by professional golfer Jumbo Ozaki, is an excellent challenge to test skills.

The rolling green hills and beautiful mountain views make each round spectacular, and the famous attention to detail in Japan makes these courses the equal of any in the world. All courses include club house facilities, some even include natural hot spring baths in their locker rooms.

The facility also has a Park Golf course and a driving range – great for beginners or practicing technique. The opening season for golf is highly dependent on snow and weather conditions, but will normally occur around the start of May.

There are also no less than eight different courses within a 15 minute drive from Rusutsu Resort Hotel. With several courses in Sapporo itself, the ones in Rusutsu remain uncrowded throughout the summer and fall.
