Appi Ski Resort

The Appi Kogen Ski Resort is one of the largest ski resorts in Japan, operated by Iwate Hotel & Resort Appi and is located near the northern end of Honshu, Japan’s main island.

From Tokyo the easiest way to travel to Appi is via Bullet Train (2 hours) to Morioka Station and then catch the bus directly to Appi resort (40 minutes).

The ski resort expands on two mountains, Mt. Maemori and Mt. Nishimori, with 21 trails, and a total trail length of 45.1 kilometres for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. It is the largest ski resort operated by a single company in Japan, with an average run of 2.1 km – Japan’s longest average

There are two gondolas and three high-speed hooded quad chairlifts, meaning on a cold day, you get up the hill quickly and warmly.

The hotel, with restaurants, ski hire, swimming pool, onsens and gym, dominates the base of the resort and allows you to sleep just steps away from the snow.

Appi Ski Resort is a perfect resort for families with exceptional customer service, well groomed trails, dedicated children’s ski areas, snow park, child care and plenty of ski school options.
