Hachimantai is close to the centre of North Tohoku in Iwate Prefecture. It takes about 40 minutes by Bus from north west of Morioka Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen from Tokyo.

Hachimantai Resort offers ski in ski out skiing from the Panorama Ski Area and the nearby Shimokura Ski Area. A regular shuttle bus runs between the two ski fields taking 10 minutes.  Due to the location and aspect two of Japan’s top 100 Mountains, Mt Hachimantai and Mt Iwate the quality of powder snow is first class.

On Panorama Ski area the gentle slopes feature top-quality powder snow groomed to perfection, making them great for small children and families as well as older members thanks to the less onerous nature of the courses. At Shimokura  the wide variety of slopes can be enjoyed by everyone, from novice to expert skiers, the ultralight powder snow makes skiing easier even for beginners with just a little bit of new snow, making the resort very popular.

Steep slopes with deep powder and a tree run are recommended for advanced skiers.

Hachimantai Winterland is a safe and secure spot for small children to have fun away from the slopes.
The area is exclusively for playing in the snow and includes a large array of equipment.
Winterland can be enjoyed by all ages, from children to adults.
