INFORMATION REGARDING UPDATED TRAVEL ADVICE
Fully vaccinated Australians and permanent residents are now able to travel internationally. The Department of Home Affairs website has information on how to prepare for travel abroad.
The SmarTraveller website covers the visa, vaccination and testing requirements for each destination including Japan.
Japan is currently closed to all international tourists unless they have a special exemption. Since March 19, 2021, all persons entering Japan must provide a certificate of a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours prior to departure. Upon arrival in Japan, a further PCR test is required and since the emergence of the Omicron variant all persons must complete at least 3 days quarantine in a government designated facility followed by self-isolation at home for 14 days.
For further information see the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan’s website.
If you have a travel credit with Japan Holidays, please call us to discuss how we can rebook your travel to Japan.
