We had the best time. We really wanted our girls to get a sense of real travel while still feeling safe and comfortable and Japan was perfect. The accommodation was all spot on and the activities, guides and scheduling were great.

Our time in Hakone was a real highlight. That hotel was wonderful, the food was incredible and they got a bit of a sense of Japanese culture outside the big cities.

By the end of the trip their eyes were definitely opened. Ailee and I loved it too. Our first real travel since before the kids were born and it was lovely to have an adventure again.

We have just returned from our fabulous 12 night tour of Japan, with our 3 children, 15, 14 & 10. Judy was amazing from the first conversation in putting together an itinerary perfectly suited to what we wanted to experience on our holiday, a mix of big cities Tokyo, Osaka & Kyoto, along with the beautiful scenery of Hakone and Kanazawa. We had private local guides with our family for 4 of the days and we very much enjoyed our time with the guides. All of the travel arrangements via trains worked perfectly, and the app was very easy to utilise.

Japan Holidays did a fabulous job customising our holiday for us and we enjoyed every minute of it. They took the hard work out of the organising!

We highly recommend them to everyone wanting to experience Japan. It is a truly special family holiday.

The Harrison Trip was great! Enjoyed it, only thing I would recommend as we did go in summer is to reduce the long tour hours. We were on our feet from 8am to 7pm in the summer heat, it was hard and it drained the experience. It was also hard when we had to drop our bags off in the morning at the hotel and go straight into the tour, not giving us time to relax after checking out of the previous hotel, traveling to the next hotel and then straight into the tour. Having travelled the "back roads" of Japan with no Japanese language a few years ago, we knew we needed help to plan and implement the type of holiday experience we had in mind. Our agent Asuka Nagata took time to get to know our priorities and goals, and checked with us constantly to confirm that we were on the same page with routes, accommodations and experiences. Every single arrangement fell into place perfectly and kept stress levels low. Asuka recommended several experiences and accommodations which left us with a great appreciation of traditional Japanese inns outside of large cities - and the joys and conveniences of more western hotels in the few cities we visited - Sapporo, Hakodate and Tokyo. We really enjoyed the few days spent with guides who were eager to exchange ideas and to give us historical insights into the cities of Otaru in Hokkaido and Hirosaki in northern Honshu, and life in Japan more generally. With no Japanese language, we found some aspects of travel in Japan quite challenging - without the help of Asuka and Japan Holidays we probably would not attempt it, particularly in the less touristic areas we preferred to visit. We will definitely recommend Japan Holidays and Asuka to anyone planning a visit to Japan.
