To support local children and boost tourism following the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, Ishikawa Prefecture has partnered with the POKÉMON with YOU Foundation.
As part of this regional revival project, Noto Satoyama Airport is being transformed into the world’s first Pokémon-themed airport: Noto Satoyama Pokémon with YOU Airport.
This airport theme will be available for a limited time until the end of September 2029.
The Noto Satoyama Pokémon with YOU Airport is convenient if you travel to Ishikawa destinations such as Wakura Onsen or even Kanazawa.
Inside the airport’s huge two-story atrium, visitors will be greeted by a giant Pikachu balloon soaring alongside an airplane, surrounded by Flying-type Pokémon decorations. In fact, all 111 Flying-type Pokémon discovered as of May 2026 will appear somewhere throughout the airport. The arrival lobby will also feature recovery-support artwork inspired by Noto’s landscapes, alongside giant monuments of Pikachu, Plusle, and Minun.
There’s plenty for fans to do beyond taking photos. The observation deck, called “Pikachu’s Village,” will feature countless Pikachu gathered together in a satoyama-inspired rural landscape scene. Visitors can also unlock original short videos on their smartphones while exploring the airport, including a story called “Fly, Bagon!” about a Bagon dreaming of flight.
Japan Holidays can arrange customised tours around the Noto area and Kanazawa, including self-drive trips by rental car from Noto Satoyama Pokémon With You Airport, as well as journeys by the Pokémon Noto Meguri Bus and Pokémon Train.
