Setouchi Minato no Yado

Based in Onomichi ,a port city by the Seto Inland Sea, Minato no Yado offers two types of accommodation: Shimazui Manor and Izumo House.

Setouchi Minato no Yado offers rooms decorated in neutral tones and feature elegant dark wood furniture.

It is located a 15-minute walk from JR Onomichi Station, and on the way up the stairs leading to the Senkoji Temple.

Shimazui Manor is a lovely pseudo-western style building overlooking the Seto Inland Sea built in 1931. With the earth-coloured mortar walls and arched windows on the balcony makes the mansion look like something from Hayao Miyazaki’s fantasy films.

Izumo House is a traditional Japanese-style self-contained accommodation that used to serve as a district office and a residence for traders in the Edo period. This house was also renovated but it retains the traditional aspects of the interior layout such as tea rooms where the past residents would have invited merchants for tea.

A flat-screen TV and blu-ray player are available in some units. There is also a kitchen, equipped with kitchenware and a microwave. A refrigerator, a kettle and stovetop are also available. There is a private bathroom with a bath and slippers in each unit. Towels and bed linen are provided.

Bike hire is available at the property, as the area is popular for cycling. Hiroshima Airport is 26 km from the property.
