Day 1: Arrival on Kushiro
Flight Tokyo to Tancho Kushiro Airport and transfer to Kushiro city.

Day 2: Kushiro – Lake Akan (81.2km)
The first ride through extensive green gently climbs to Lake Akan. Around Lake Akan, you can experience various nature, beautiful lake, spectacular mountains and a round shape plant registered as Natural Monument (Aegagropila linnaei). Akan is also known for hot springs, you can rest in onsen inn with scenic view tonight.

Day 3: Lake Akan – Lake Kussharo – Lake Mashu (122km)
We will visit the other two lakes and climb three hills around those lakes. In the morning, we’ll ride over the mountain next to Lake Akan and head to Bihoro with a panoramic view of Lake Kussharo, the largest caldera lake in Japan. After that, we will go down the hill and head to Lake Mashu, one of the clearest lakes in the world. Scenic view from the observatory would be breathtaking.

Day 4: Mashu – Hamanaka
After moderate climbing in the morning, descending long ride to the bay area Hamanaka. Roads are straight lined and running across the immense farmland. Hamanaka also has beautiful nature, Kiritappu wetland and a beautiful cape. This bay area is flourishing fishing industry. Local fresh seafoods are highly recommended for today’s dinner.

Day 5: Hamanaka -Kushiro (79.5km)
We will come back around to Kushiro city today. Leisurely ride including some small up and down hills of the final day of cycling. Kushiro city is the central gate of eastern Hokkaido. This port city has a fish markets and restaurants, enjoy the last night in Kushiro area.
